Obligatory Prayer Reminder Privacy Policy
Obligatory Prayer Reminder is a timer and reminder for the short, medium and long obligatory prayers of the Bahá’í Faith. This is an independent app. It is not an official Bahá’í app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any Bahá’í institution. Reminder times follow published Bahá’í guidance and may differ from what your own community or institutions advise; please follow their guidance.
The short version
- We collect nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no servers of ours.
- The app does not ask for internet access, so it cannot send your information anywhere.
- We do not sell or share your information.
What is saved on your phone
Your choices stay on your phone only: which prayer or tradition you picked, your reminder times, days and repeat settings, and which windows you marked Done. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, they are gone. We cannot see or restore them.
Location (optional)
Some reminders follow sunrise or sunset. You can type a place, or tap a button to use your approximate location once. Your phone asks your permission first. The location is used on your phone to work out sunrise and sunset and is saved only on your phone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can say no and still use the app.
Permissions the app asks for
- Notifications: to show your reminders.
- Exact alarms: so reminders arrive on time. You can turn this off in your phone’s settings.
- Run after restart: to put your reminders back after the phone restarts.
- Approximate location (optional): as described above.
The app has a button that opens the official Bahá’í website (bahai.org) in your web browser, where the prayers are published. That website is run by others and has its own privacy policy.
Age
The app is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it saved. Questions? Email support@asp-inc.ca. If you live in Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app.
