Roast My Habit Privacy Policy
Roast My Habit is a habit tracker that roasts you, humorously, for the habits you skip. This page explains what information the app uses, why, and what choices you have. We keep it simple because we collect very little.
The short version
- No account, no sign-in, no name or email needed.
- No ads, and no advertising or analytics tools inside the app.
- We do not sell your information.
What the app sends to our server
To do its job, the app contacts our server (hosted on Cloudflare) and sends:
- Your habit names and this week's progress (for example, "Gym, did 2 of 4 days, streak 3"), only when you ask for a roast. They are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes them to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude AI model, so it can write the roast. We do not save your habit names or the roast.
- The roast level you choose.
- An anonymous install ID. The app makes a random ID the first time it runs. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or advertising ID. We use it to count your weekly roasts.
- Your platform (Android or iPhone).
What our server keeps
- Your anonymous install ID, platform, plan, and the date it was first seen.
- How many roasts that install used each week.
- A short cost record of each roast: the time, roast level, AI token counts, and whether it worked. It never contains your habit names or the roast text.
We keep these records for as long as the service runs, to limit abuse, enforce free-plan limits and track costs.
What stays on your phone
Your habit list and check-ins are saved only on your phone. We have no account system and no copy of your list.
Who else handles data
- Anthropic processes what the app sends so the AI can reply. Anthropic handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy (anthropic.com/legal/privacy).
- Cloudflare hosts our server and database.
- Google Play or the Apple App Store handle downloads and, if paid plans are offered, payments. We do not see your payment details.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. We do not share it for advertising.
Sensitive habits
Please avoid typing private health details as habit names. If a habit looks like it touches health or a personal struggle (for example eating, drinking, smoking, medication or mood), the app keeps the roast gentle and never makes health jokes. Roast My Habit is not a medical or mental-health tool and does not give health advice.
Permissions the app asks for
Internet access. If you turn on reminders (when that feature is available), Android 13 and newer will ask for notification permission.
Age
Roast My Habit is for people 13 and older. The Spicy and Savage roast levels ask you to confirm you are an adult (18 or older) first. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- Uninstalling the app removes your anonymous ID and everything saved on your phone.
- You can ask us to delete or show you what we hold. Because we do not know who you are, we may need something from you to find your record; if we cannot find it, the leftover record contains no personal details.
Email support@asp-inc.ca with any request or question. If you live in Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, and our AI key and server secrets are kept out of the app. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect as little as we can.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app.
